Well this year has come to a close with this the final race of the year. XRAY drivers have been busy all year on the track and the team has come together quite well. This weekend is no different for the team.

The practice day went off well, with some very quick set ups and slight modification to our base set up. The team was all on pace. Most of us looked for the right set up individually then compared notes later.

Qualifying saw Wayne Mah (Team Can West R/C XRAY driver take the TQ. With a strong showing of XRAY cars in the top 6 out of the eight spots in the A main before bump up’s.

The main event was the final chance for anyone in the points running to take a shot at the sereis title and with XRAY driver Wayne Mah already taking the TQ spot this would prove to be difficult for anyone. Wayne just coming off of a race back east with a win there and having gone undefeated all season at the big events this would be a tough.

The points going into the final were tight between myself and Wayne. I would need the tq and finish one spot better to take the title away from him, since he has the TQ I would need to finish three spots ahead of him. The race starts and Wayne gets the hole shot off the tone with a few other drivers eager to take positions early a small pile up happens pushing me back into 7th place. I fought hard to work thru traffic and the Xray did not dissapoint at all. The car ran flawlessly and the Werks Collari B7 ran great. I was running Panther step pins in med soft with molded green inserts.

After a few minutes of hard driving I managed to catch up to Wayne and eventually made the pass after a slight bobble. I managed to maintain the lead for well over half of the race to take the win with Wayne in second place. What an incredible race it was, we finished on the same lap and never got more than 25 seconds apart during the entire 45 minute race. I look forward to another race against one of the top drivers in Canada again real soon. The final points after the season ended put me second overall and i am more than happy to go back again next year driving the Xray to yet another shot at the title. Xray cars swept the series total points taking the top 6 consecutive places for the season. Congratulations Team Can West and fellow Xray drivers.

WCORCS Final in Quesnel, British Columbia

We arrived in Quesnel on Friday and took to the track that afternoon. We just got in minimal practice when it started to rain heavily. Occasional rain continued overnight which left the track thoroughly soaked thus Saturday's qualifying rounds were not underway until almost noon.

On Saturday, the track was in its prime condition with good traction. A few setup adjustments and Wayne managed three zeros in the qual points scoring system which secured TQ in 1/8 nitro buggy. The A main 1/8 buggy was the last race of the event to run on Sunday. Since no track maintenance was done all weekend, we had to prepare for a severely degraded, bombed out, rutted track condition. From the start of the main, I took the lead and held for 15 minutes of the 45 minute race. A problem with a rock in my steering linkage forced me to drop to 2nd to the hard charging Rob Sorjonen ( Team XRAY Canada). After a stop, I managed to keep the buggy in business for the remainder of the time while holding onto 2nd place. Although with a bit of bad luck in the final I am very happy with the TQ and 2nd place finish which was enough to take home the WCORCS championship for the third year in a row.

I would like to thank all my sponsors that have supported me. Special thanks to XRAY Canada ( Korgae Scales) and RCA for the continued support with providing me the BEST buggy in the industry.
